Forest Friends

I think the Forest Friends set in the new Stampin' Up! mini catalogue is just adorable and it's probably one I've used the most so far. So here are a few cards made with the bunny and the owl, just to show some different looks:





I used a variety of colours, some DSP, sentiments from the Fresh Cuts set, Oval All and Circle of Friendship, I did some heat embossing on the So Saffron card and just generally had a play :)

This next card was made for a friend whose daughter is about to sit some exams. I wanted to make the flower look like a four-leaf-clover, but when I added some Stickles in the centre, it all went wrong and it had to be covered with the little Prima flower...

I took it easy over the weekend, trying to rest a sore foot (found out today it's plantar fasciitis, so stretching exercises, rest and ibuprofen are the order of the day), so I sat at my craft table :)


Got this sheep stamp a couple of weeks ago just because I thought it was cute and finally inked it up and coloured it in:

The image is by Penny Black, cardstock is DCWV, patterned paper is Doodlebug and the sentiment is by Papertrey (I splashed out with some birthday money and love my new toys!). Flowers are Prima, ribbon and gems are from stash.

I also made this, again, just because (I need stock!!!), no challenges, nothing:

Image is Whiff of Joy, blue cardstock is DCWV, gingham paper from Costco, and sentiment and border stamp again by Papertrey, from their Round and About Sentiments set.

More cards!

Well, a wee production line has been set up in my crafty corner of the back room, I have a craft fair coming up at the end of May, lots of orders from a friend and a workshop to prepare for. It's keeping me out of mischief and I'm having lots of fun (just don't ask what the rest of the house looks like...)!

This first card I made with a swap in mind, but then didn't like how the sentiment doesn't really show. Quite pleased with the rest, though, although I'm still far more comfortable with brighter colours and more contemporary-looking patterned papers.

The papers are from a huge Costco pack, they're double-sided and really thick, must use them more! The image is Precious Moments which I received in a RAK, flowers are by Prima and received in a RAK from my lovely SBS26 sister Priscilla and the sentiment and brads are Stampin' Up!

I must have still been on the friendship theme when I made this next card:

A Bella image I received in a RAK, coloured with watercolour pencils, cardstock from the Paper Mill Shop, Studio G sentiment stamp, Swiss Dots CB embossing and a few gems from stash. Nice and simple :)

MIA again...

I'm so sorry, I've been such a bad blogger lately! What with the school holidays, mine and hubby's birthdays, Easter and my trip to Germany, I've just not got round to posting, or felt like it much. I HAVE been making stuff, so there will be a few posts over the next few days showing off my creations, both here and over on Stamping Stuff.

I'll start with an Easter card - I know, hideously late, but hey! I like it, and I'm going to post it :)

I made it for my middle daughter who wanted to give her friend a little something for Easter, so to match the card, I made a sour cream container filled with mini eggs. The patterned paper and green cardstock are DCWV, pink and yellow cardstock are from the Paper Mill Shop, bunny image is Rubber Stampede, sentiment by SU! and ribbon and brads are from stash.

I'll also show you the card I made for hubby's birthday. I bought the stamp specially at the SECC last month, since he's such a dog lover and very keen to get a dog for the family. Well, this is what he'll have to make do with in the meantime :)

The image is Penny Black, coloured with watercolour pencils, sentiment is Cuddly Buddly, papers are Dovecraft and BG, buttons are from stash and there's some twine from the garden shed :)

Hello everybody! I may not have updated much lately, but I have been busy - lots of pictures to look at in this post :)

First off, I'm going to play along with the Daring Cardmakers this week and their challenge is to use fruit on our cards. First stamp set that springs to mind is Tart & Tangy, so out it came.

Other: scallop circle punch, Bold Brights buttons, On Board Loads of Letters chipboard (sponged with Pink Passion ink), 1 3/8 circle punch

I love the size and shapes of these flowers - when I first saw them, I immediately thought "scrapbook embellishments"!! This page is 8x8, but they would not look lost on a 12x12 page, either. I know it's rather bright again, but this time I've taken all the colours from my daughter's dress :)

And finally, a couple of cards using a colour combo I saw somewhere (but can't remember where...) and really liked:

Apologies for the "soft" photographs, couldn't seem to get the right light today. I'm just grabbing a few minutes here and there just now to make stuff, as the girls are on holiday and seem to always find something for me to do with them. Don't they know how important crafting is? Yes, I suppose - that's why youngest daughter constantly asks me to stamp images for her to colour in ;-) And then she wants to make them into cards :) I'll get them trained yet!!! Purple Elephant

I made this card for my SBS26 sister Jenny, for the last week of our (now not so) Secret Sister round:

I do like this elephant from Little Claire, he's so cheerful! I coloured the image with my trusty watercolour pencils and added some Stickles to the dandylion and flowers. The sentiment stamp is from Prima Marketing, and the buttons and flower are from stash. Cardstock is from the Paper Mill Shop and the purple panel was embossed with a CB folder. I do have fun making these cards, I find colouring images very therapeutic and relaxing :) What a kid I am!

Well, the sun is out today, and it's feeling quite warm - what a nice change! I hope it will last for a wee while, seeing our Easter break starts on Friday, and it's my birthday on Sunday. I'm hoping for a day out in the Borders, to soak up a bit of spring, so rain just would not do!
