A large helping of cardmaking, seasoned with some scrapbooking, a subtle mix of other crafts and garnished with my thoughts on this and that.

I'm back
So I've made a few cards, two of which I'll show on here, and the rest over on my stamping blog. I'm preparing for another workshop tomorrow night (3 in 2 weeks, hope it'll continue!), so I'll keep this short.
This first one I'm going to enter into two challenges: Daring Cardmakers, who challenged us to use hearts, and Spoonful of Sugar, where the theme is "Love is in the Air". I've used papers from a Costco pack, Magnolia stamp coloured with watercolour pencils, SU swirly and sentiment stamps, flowers from poppicraft and lots of Chocolate Chip ink. Brads and ribbon are from stash.
This card I had nearly finished for ages: the image was coloured in last summer and most of the card assembled in the autumn, all that was missing was the greeting. Well that was finally added yesterday! Again, papers from Costco pack, image is Precious Moments, coloured with watercolour pencils, a piece of ribbon from Ribbon Oasis, SU! scallop edge punch and sentiment.
On a different note, two of my lovely SBS 26 sisters have given me awards - thank you, Alexandria and Tonya, that was very sweet of you!
From Alexandria:
From Tonya:
The rules for this award are:
1. Choose a minimum of 4 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design.
2. Show the 4 winners' names and links on your blog, and leave a comment informing then that they were prized with "Honest Scrap", the nifty icon they can display proudly on their blog.
3. List at least 10 honest things about yourself.
Well, here we go:
- I'm pretty disorganized and procrastinate something awful.
- I hate housework - much rather go "blurfing" and craft.
- I love my family.
- I constantly worry about my weight, but like to eat too much to ever be really skinny.
- I'm happy as a SAHM and don't think I'll ever get bored or need "more".
- I could quite happily live without a mobile/cell phone.
- I like chocolate. A lot.
- 99% of the time I can't be bothered wearing make-up.
- I look forward to "alone-time", I need it to recharge.
- I like the odd wee glass of whisky.
Unfortunately, I'm running out of time to sift through my blogs and pass this on, so I'm awarding it to everyone who comes here and leaves comments - I do appreciate you very much! Thanks for stopping by :) And for your patience, if you're still with me - didn't quite manage to keep it short! Bye!

New cards
Images Copyright 1990-2008 Stampin’ Up! ®
Stamp Set: Tart and Tangy, Live your Dream (sentiment)
Colours: Real Red, Old Olive, Bashful Blue and Whisper White
Other: red grosgrain ribbon, Summer Picnic DP (retired), 1 1/4" circle punch, Stampin' Write markers; nestabilities
I saw these "tent topper" cards on Michelle Wooderson's blog and thought they were cute! I'm sure I've seen the design elsewhere, too, but that's where I stumbled across them recently. So I got out my "Tart and Tangy" stamp set, inked up the strawberry and the apple with markers and off I went. I like the square topper better, but the round one is growing on me, and I do like the fresh colour scheme (I'm sure if you've been here before, you've come across this colour combo before... :)). Right, got to go and get on with prepping Friday's workshop - I've got three coming up, so exciting! The new year is getting off to a good start in that way, just need to really get those creative juices flowing like mad now :) Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings!
Slowly, slowly...
The paper is from a pad called Marcella by K which I bought in the States last spring, the image is by Whiff of Joy, the sentiment is Stampin' Up! Circle of Friendship and the flowers and brads are from stash (meaning I don't really know who they're by). I watercoloured the image with pencils and cut it out with round nesties. Every edge in sight got a good inking :) And because the card was for a special occasion, I decided to decorate it on the inside as well:
Same papers, squalloped square cut with nesties, scalloped circle SU! punch, numbers QK, little flower from Lakeland pack and some small half pearls. I think it's quite pretty and I had fun doing it :)
Hopefully this means I'm getting back into the swing of things - we've finally taken all the Christmas stuff down, too, so everything is back to normal. Well, nearly - youngest daughter has been off nursery yesterday and today with a stinking cold and fever (yesterday). Poor wee thing, she looked so miserable! But she's started to boss me around again today, so I know she's on the mend:)
Thanks for stopping by!
