Tilda and Friends Colour Challenge

Hadn't made any ATC's in ages, so I really wanted to join in with another Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge. They have a colour challenge this week: Blue, Green and Pink! I love green and pink together, and a little bit of blue won't go wrong either. So here is Nellie:

I embossed a bit of pink cardstock with a Cuttlebug folder and wiped an inked sponge over it. Then I added a piece of green spotty paper to the bottom and inked all around the edges. I watercoloured Nellie, cut her out and adhered her with foam pads. Finally added a MM clip, a couple of blue gems and the sentiment.

Thanks for looking - off to do some packing now as I'm away to Dublin tomorrow morning for a girls' weekend of fun :) Have a good weekend!

Christmas Card

First of a couple of quick posts while the kids are upstairs playing and/or doing homework...

Here's a card for A Spoonful of Sugar where the theme is Christmas. Well, it's definitely getting closer, so any reason to make a Christmas card is welcome :)

Kept it quite simple, DCWV papers (which I've had for ages!!!) for the background, new Tilda stamp for the image, watercoloured, QK holly leaves, buttons from stash, sentiment by Studio G and lots of inking round the edges.

Thanks for looking!

Been Having a Play!

I got my Stampin' Up pre-order set on Tuesday and just had to have a play. Of course it's taken me until today to actually post about my cards, but that is another matter...

I ordered a set called "For Father", because I really loved the images (especially the cute little puppy - you'll see :)), and they're so well suited for men's cards, something I'm always struggling with a little.

So, first I stamped the apple crate, which has a lovely olde-worlde-feel to it, and very autumnal, too, so it's just right for now. Didn't find it very easy to colour the image, I must admit, I am no artist and shading and highlighting don't come naturally. I am quite pleased with this, though, my second attempt, and I'll give this card to my father-in-law along with his belated birthday present...

The image and all supplies are Stampin' Up. Cardstock and designer paper are Old Olive, the mats are Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa. The image was coloured with Watercolor Wonder crayons and my Aqua Painter.

Secondly, I stamped the cute puppy. I think that stamp really sold the set to me :) I made this card initially for A Spoon Full of Sugar and Nikki's great sketch, but it also fits Cute Card Thursday's challenge of Cats and Dogs. (Apologies for the shadows across the picture - apparently that can happen when there is sunshine! It's been so long, I think I had forgotten...)

The image, sentiment and supplies are Stampin' Up, except the ribbon card blank which are from stash. Cardstock is Close to Cocoa and Not Quite Navy, designer paper is Rose Red. The image was again coloured with Watercolor Wonder crayons and my Aqua Painter.

Okay, I'm ready now to create some more. I'm starting to feel in the mood for Christmas cards - is that weird? I think I'll get the Christmas box out and see where that takes me :) Thanks for stopping by!

Pink!

I've actually made a card today! Crafting time has been non-existent lately, because my parents were visiting and we did loads of things together like going to a concert at the Festival, shopping in Edinburgh, a trip to the Seabird Centre in North Berwick etc. It was fun, but part of me is also glad to be able to get back into a routine now - the kids have been back at school for three weeks now, and I'm still catching up on stuff... Never mind, I've got very good intentions now and hope to craft and post much more regularly!

So, I made a card for "Pretty in Pink", the latest challenge over at Cute Card Thursday. Not too hard for a mum of three girls, pink has always featured quite strongly in our house (although eldest daughter has made noises that she no longer likes pink, it's too girly, and she prefers to be cooler now... She's nine!)

I've used pink cardstock from the Paper Mill Shop, patterned paper of which I can't remember the manufacturer, a watercoloured Tilda image, some ribbon, some primas and a little bling. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up!

And then I came across a card I made before my folks got here, but which I hadn't posted yet. And guess what - it's got a lot of pink, too!

The image is one I received from Nicola, and yes, it was watercoloured and then mounted on a pink nestie circle. The patterned paper is DCWV, pink card is Paper Mill, sentiment is computer-printed and the buttons, thread and ribbon are from stash.

And finally, I used some of the scraps from the first card to make a little 3x3 card which can be used as a gift tag or just a little note card. I'm going to try and do that more often, once I've finished a card, use the leftovers to make a tag or tiny card or some such thing. Good intentions!

Oh well, hubby is just in from work, so I guess we'd better get the tea on. Must have forgotten what time it was, oh dear! :) Thanks for looking!
